ABOUT LIESL
Liesl Lavery is passionate about her work. A custom artist, illustrator, and muralist, Liesl truly enjoys getting to know her clients and adapting her artistic style to suit their unique personalities and tastes.
A multi-disciplinary background makes Liesl well-suited for such creative endeavors. She holds a Masters in Learning Sciences including coursework in cognitive psychology, education and instructional technology. In the ten years she has worked in the field of education technology consulting, Liesl has designed a number of creative online learning environments for both kids and adults and honed her skills in project management. This experience, combined with her artistic talents as a painter, gives her the unique ability to design custom artwork that stimulates young creative minds while simultaneously managing the production process in way that ensures a positive outcome for each of her clients.
Over the years her work includes hand-painted appliances and furniture, acrylic and oils on canvas, murals, stationery and clothing for children. Inspired by artists like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, her style has been described as folk inspired pop, with subjects interpreted in a fun and whimsical fashion. In addition to her custom art business, Liesl has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
Liesl has a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a Masters Degree from Northwestern University. She speaks French fluently and loves to travel and learn about foreign cultures.
